Lasell Fall Sports Schedules Announced

NEWTON, Mass. – With the Fourth of July in the rearview mirror, the Lasell College fall sports are in the windshield ahead and are within sight for the 2018 seasons. The Lasell athletics game schedules have been released and are now available online on the official website for Lasell Athletics – laserpride.lasell.edu.

The eight-time defending Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer champion Lasers will open up the season on Friday, August 31, hosting Oswego State (N.Y.) at Grellier Field (1:00 p.m.), followed by the Laser men's soccer team hosting Norwich University in the GNAC opener at 4:00 p.m. on the same day on the same field.

The Laser field hockey and women's volleyball teams will also begin their seasons on Friday, August 31, and Saturday, September 1, with non-conference matchups around New England. The field hockey team will visit Nichols College in Dudley, Mass., on Friday evening (7:00 p.m.) and follow that up with a contest Saturday at Becker College in Leicester, Mass. (1:00 p.m.), while the women's volleyball squad will compete in the Western Connecticut State University Invitational both Friday and Saturday, meeting the host Colonials as well as Emerson College, Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham and Salve Regina University.

Lasell's men's and women's cross country teams will also make their season debut on Friday, August 31, running in the Suffolk University season opener in a race held in Barrington, Mass.

An additional highlight to the fall schedule includes a preseason trip to Bermuda by the Lasell field hockey team. The Lasers will play two games during the fourth week of August before returning home for the start of the regular season.
