Sullivan Named GNAC Pitcher of the Week
Newton, MA- Joshua Sullivan (Rockland, MA) was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after throwing a two-hitter in Lasell's first ever win over St. Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday.
NEWTON, MA—Lasell College sophomore pitcher Joshua Sullivan (Rockland, MA) was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 11th.
Sullivan was chosen for the honor after pitching a perfect game through five and a third innings, and finishing the complete game with a two-hitter in the Lasers, 6-2, victory over GNAC powerhouse St. Joseph’s College of Maine on Saturday, April 10th.
Sullivan let up just two-hits and two-runs while striking out six Monk batters. He collected his second win of the season in four total appearances on the mound, finishing the day with a 2-1 record on the year. He is leading the team with a 2.33 ERA and has struck out a total of 21 batters in 27 innings pitched.
Sullivan is also leading the Lasers offensively, with a .333 batting average, good for second on the team. He has a team-best 22 hits, including two doubles and two triples, to go along with 14 runs and eight RBI. He has had five multi-hit games this season, including going 4-for-4 against the University of Massachusetts, Boston, adding one RBI. The sophomore is also leading the team with four stolen bases on five attempts.
Sullivan was a GNAC Third Team All-Conference honoree as a freshman, in the 2009 season. This is his first time being awarded a weekly conference honor.
