Sullivan, Mahoney Reach Milestones, as Lasers Fall to St. Joseph's (ME)
Matt Mahoney recorded his 100th career hit and Josh Sullivan collected his 150th career hit on the afternoon.

Waltham, MA - The Lasell College baseball team had a pair of seniors reach career milestones, but the were unable to overcome the 18th ranked Monks of St. Joseph's College (ME), falling 10-6 and 8-3 in a GNAC doubleheader.
Joshua Sullivan (Rockland, Mass.) opened the bottom half of the first inning in the opener with a single, becoming the first player in school history to record the 150th hit of his career. Matt Mahoney (Rockland, Mass.) went 3-4 in the opening game, and his seventh inning double was the 100th hit in his career, making him the third player in program history to reach that mark.
Game One:
After holding the visiting Monks scoreless in the top half of the first, Lasell threatened to opening the scoring. After Sullivan and Mahoney opened the game with back-to-back singles, St. Joe's starter Tyler Laverriere, recorded a strike out and induced an inning ending double play to escape the jam. Both teams went down in order in the second inning, before st. Jospeh's erupted for six runs in the third inning.
Lincoln Sanborn opened the top of the third with a single, followed by Brandon Chase drilling a two-run home run to put the visitors ahead 2-0. Sam Butts doubled, and Dan Achorn and Joe Coyne followed with a pair of RBI doubles to stretch the Monks lead to 4-0. After a Mike Pratt fly-out, Alex Lorenc hit a two-run homerun to knock starter Brendan Jordan (Rocky Hill, Conn.)from the game. Greg Sherman (Marshfield, Mass.) helped the Lasers get out of the inning without further damage.
The Lasers were unable close the gap in the bottom of the inning, and St. Joseph's tacked on four more runs in the top of the fourth, courtesy of a walk and four consecutive hits giving them a 10-0 cushion.
Lasell got a run back in the bottom of the fourth and another in the bottom of the fifth to close the gap to 10-2. The Lasers strung together five straight hits to put four more runs on the board in the bottom of the seventh to cut the deficit to 10-6 but were unable to complete their comeback.
Mahoney, Sullivan and Billy Uberti (Newton, Mass.) each finished with three hits for Lasell, while Conor Cavanagh (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in a pair of hits as well.
Laverriere earned the win for St. Joseph's going six innings, yielding two runs on nine hits while striking out seven. Brendan Jordan took the loss for Lasell.
Game Two:
Lasell dropped the second game of the doubleheader, 8-3. The Lasers fell behind 8-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth, and were able to get a run in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to cut the deficit to 8-3 but were unable draw any closer.
Sam Butts led the way with a pair of hits and three RBI's for the Monks, while the Lasers got a pair of hits from Matt Sammarco (New Cannan, Conn.) and Bobby Stachura (Middletown, Conn.), and Stachura drove in two of the Lasers three runs.
Nick Whittaker earned the win for St. Joseph's, going six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six. Dan O'Boyle (Bayport, N.Y.) took the loss for Lasell.
