Team Stats
Amherst, MA- The Lasers couldn't recover from a rough start on the mound, dropping 13–4 against Amherst College on Tuesday evening.
Things unraveled early, as Matthew Dinoff surrendered eight runs in the first inning while recording just one out, putting the team in an immediate hole. From there, the bullpen was tasked with covering the bulk of the game. While there were still some struggles, Michael Webber provided a strong outing late, tossing three shutout innings to help settle things down. Control issues on the mound proved costly all afternoon as the pitching staff combined to walk eight hitters, hit five more, and throw six wild pitches, allowing Amherst to take advantage of extra opportunities and extend innings.
At the plate, the offense showed life throughout the game. Bobby Long led the charge with three hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs. Declan Silva chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while Andrew Hosford also added a pair of hits and drove in a run. Despite the production, Lasell couldn't string together enough timely hits, leaving nine runners on base and striking out 11 times.
