South Hadley, MA- The Lasers took an overtime victory over Mt. Holyoke College in a 2-1 matchup on Thursday night off of a penalty stroke.
After a scoreless back-and-forth first quarter, the Lasers netted their first goal three minutes into the second quarter off a Jackelyn Scopa goal.
The Lyons tied the game up early in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner with a Linneas Alsted goal, assisted by Scout Climie.
Late into the quarter, a yellow card and a red card on Mount Holyoke would put the team two players down heading into overtime play. One minute into overtime, a foul on the Lyons set the Lasers up for a penalty stroke, where Johanna Snyder ended the game with a goal on the right side of the net. The Lasers recorded 13 shots compared to five for the Lyons, while each team had eight penalty corners.
