NEWTON, MA. - The Bluejays of Saint Joseph Connecticut defeated the Lasers in a double overtime 2-1 GNAC matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The first quarter was an even battle between the two teams before the Bluejays would net their first goal 12 minutes and fifty seconds into the quarter off of a Grace Kociszewski goal after earning an offensive penalty corner.
The next two quarters would remain scoreless as each team ripped shots on net. Shortly into the fourth quarter, freshman Maray Boldy would tie the game up, assisted by Isabella O'Reilly, which would send the two teams into overtime play.
The first overtime play remained scoreless as Lasell took three shots while the Bluejays had two shots. The Bluejays would take the win shortly into the second overtime play off of an Alyssa Milligan goal, assisted by Devan Fox.
The Lasers were outshot by the Bluejays 18-11 while Lasell had three penalty corners compared to the Bluejays' two.
In the net, Courtney Tello had 10 saves for the Lasers while Isabella O'Reilly had one defensive save.
