FH: Lasers Fall to Raiders in OT

NEWTON, MA- The Lasers dropped a GNAC win to Rivier University during an overtime 3-2 matchup on Saturday in Nashua, NH.

The Raiders came out strong in the first quarter, setting the tone early by knocking the ball into the net just two and a half minutes into the game. After an uncontested rest of the first quarter, the Raiders would again find the net shortly into the second quarter.

Lasell continued to battle, putting themselves on the scoreboard late into the third quarter off an Alyson Barnes goal. Another Lasell goal by Alice Rourke, assisted by Alessia Callahan early in the fourth quarter would send the teams into overtime play.

Overtime would see two offensive penalty corners from Lasell and three from the Raiders before a Rivier goal would end the game.

Up Next: The Lasers will compete in another GNAC matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5:00pm against Simmons University on Grellier Field.
