Newton, MA. - The Lasers earned a 1-0 GNAC victory over the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine during their last home game of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The Lasers and the Monks battled a tight game, with both teams coming out strong in the first quarter. The two teams tied 2-2 in shots and 1-1 on penalty corners heading into the second quarter.
Lasell dominated the second quarter, leading 5-2 in shots and 3-1 in corners, but would remain scoreless going into halftime.
In the third quarter, a strong defensive corner block from the Lasers would send the team up field for a breakaway goal from Kaitlin Bedell, assisted by Brooklyn Northcutt.
The Monks came out strong in the fourth quarter, taking five of their nine shots, but the Lasers shut them out to secure the win.
