Henniker, NH- The Lasell University field hockey team battled hard in the GNAC quarterfinals but came up short in a 3–0 loss to New England College.
New England College controlled much of the first half, with Lasells goalkeper McKenna Ecker stopping several early attempts before NEC scored at the 10:58 mark to make it 1–0. Lasell earned a few penalty corners, including strong setups by Jacquelyn Scopa and Megan Crabtree, but couldn't find the back of the cage. Just before halftime, NEC extended their lead off to 2-0 going into the break.
Lasell pushed hard in the third quarter, generating multiple penalty corners and shots from Halleen Seguin, yet remained scoreless. In the final period, NEC scored again to secure the 3–0. Ecker's impressive performance in goal highlighted the Lasers' defensive effort, while Seguin and Crabtree led the attack.
Lasell finishes their season with an overall record of 8-9 and will look to come back even stronger next season.
