Jose Guitian Becomes Lasell's All-Time Leading Rebounder

Jose Guitian (Maimi, FL) became the Lasell College Men's Basketball All-Time Leading Rebounder while playing at Albertus Magnus on January 10th, when he surpassed the previous career record of 853 total career boards, held by Demetrius DeJesus.  Guitian broke the record less than two minutes into the game, having needed only two boards to set the new record.  He then went on to record 17 total rebounds as well as score 24 points, leading Lasell to a 90-83 victory over the Falcons.

Guitian is ranked 7th in of the NCAA Division III basketball and 1st in the GNAC in rebounds per game, averaging 11.4 boards per contest.  He has 124 boards this season, and 879 total career rebounds, making it entirely plausible he will become the first athlete in Lasell College history to reach the coveted 1,000 rebound mark by the end of this season. 

With fourteen regular season contests remaining and 138 points to go, Guitian is also in line to break the all-time scoring record of 1,584 career points, held currently by Jaime Crawford.  Averaging 21.5 points per game, Guitian is ranked 3rd in the GNAC and 28th in Division III.
