Guitian Repeats on D3Hoops Team of the Week
Also receives honors from ECAC & GNAC For the second consecutive week, Jose Guitian (Miami, FL) has deservingly been named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week. The Team of the Week recognizes the top performances nationally at each of the five positions from the previous week. Guitian was also named the GNAC mens basketball co-Player of the Week for the second week in a row, and for the second time this season, Guitian was selected as ECAC Player of the Week for the New England DIII Region for his efforts. Guitian averaged 23.6 points, 15.6 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2.67 assists per game over the course of the 3-0 week for the Lasers.

In an 86-70 win over rival Mount Ida, Guitian scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.Later in the week Guitian ripped down 18 rebounds in a non conference win against Keene State to go along with 26 points. Guitian then helped the Lasers defeat the number two team in the conference, the Emerson College Lions. In only 24 minutes Guitian scored 20 points, took down 14 boards, and went 6 for 6 from the line.
Last week, Guitian also become the 3rd person to score over 1,500 points in Lasell men's basketball history during the Keene State contest, and is 45 points away from breaking the all time scoring record.Guitian is ranked 1st in the GNAC in rebounds per game and has jumped up from 9th last week, to an impressive 2nd overall in the nation, averaging 12.3 boards a game. He is also scoring an average of 22.1 points per game, good for 2nd in GNAC and 15th in the nation, and is 1st in the GNAC and 25th nationally in blocks per game, averaging 2.0 per game.
The Lasers are 11-4 overall, and 8-0 in the GNAC. The Lasers play three conference games this week starting Tuesday, January 27, at Johnson & Wales. Then the Lasers travel home on Thursday to take on Rivier College, and end the week on Saturday, at Suffolk University.
