LASELL MOVES PAST NORWICH 100-69
Newton, Mass.- Jose Guitian (Miami, FL) and Brad Caravoulias (Dracut, Mass.) combined for 45 points to lead Lasell to their second GNAC victory, over Norwich University. Lasell ran away with the game in the second half, leaving the Cadets behind, 100-69, at the final buzzer.

Caravoulias started the Lasers with 11 of their first 16 points over five minutes, including three of four three pointers. The Cadets hung with the Lasers, as both teams shot strong, Lasell at 62.5%, and Norwich just behind at 57.1%. With the Cadets lagging, Robert Thurman (Edwards, CA) put down back-to-back dunks for Norwich bringing Norwich within five points at 13:29, followed by the Lasers taking their biggest lead of the half, off a three pointer by Charles Horton (Worcester, Mass.) to go up 23-15.
Norwich slowly crawled back to bring the game within two points, at 9:46, after Thurman came up with an offensive rebound and the put back to make the game 24-26. Lasell upped their lead back to seven within the next two minutes off another a pair of three's by Caravoulias and Junior Sainval (Miami, FL) and post bucket by Sean Joynes (Philadelphia, PA).
Norwich went on a 10-0 run ending with a long three from downtown by Jaren Jeffcoat (Dallas, TX) to turn the lead in their favor. The lead was short lived however, as a baseline jumper by Kevin Fallon (Manasquan, NJ) tied the game, and one of two free throws by Guitian put the Lasers up by one.
The Cadets tied the game two more times over the remaining three minutes, but the Lasers pulled ahead with a seven point lead at the half as Guitian dropped in a bucket from the left wing in the final seconds of the half.
The Lasers continued shooting with hot hands in the second half. Caravoulias hit his fifth trifecta of the game to bring the Lasers ahead by 10 in the opening ten seconds of the final period. With ten minutes outstanding in the game, Lasell held a 18 point edge and they finished the game with a fast break layup by Javon Williams (Mattapan, Mass.) to close the game 100-69.
Guitiain had an incredible 18 rebounds and 25 points, with Caravoulias following with 20 total points. The Lasers also had two additional athletes finish in double figures with Fallon dropping in 15 points and Corey Godfrey (Cambridge, Mass.) completing on 13 points.
Joshua Cabrera (Providence, RI) was the Cadet-high scorer with 20 points, shooting 8-16 overall and 4-7 from behind the arc. Jeffcoat, Thurman, and Mike Filipek (Jericho, VT) each hit double digits in scoring, combining for forty points.
Norwich (2-5) closes out their first semester, and will open play in the New Year at Mount Ida College on January 10th. Lasell (4-3) plays again on Thursday, December 11th at Babson.
