Men's Hoops to Host ECAC Tournament as #1 Seed

After finishing 1st in the GNAC in the regular-season with an 18-9 record, the Lasell Lasers were selected as the number one seed in the 2009 ECAC Division III New England Men's Basketball Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal, and championship rounds.

In the first round on Wednesday, March 4th, Lasell will host no. 8 Salve Regina (14-13) at 7 p.m. while the second seed Colby-Sawyer (20-7) will face No. 7 Rivier College (14-12), No. 3 Westfield State (18-9) plays No. 6 Daniel Webster College (17-9) and Westfield and no. 4 Becker (19-8) will host no. 5 Framingham State (15-12) at 7 p.m.

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, March 7th which will be played at the campuses of the two highest remaining seeds. The winner of Lasell-Salve Regina will face the winner of Becker-Framingham State in one semifinal, and the winner of Colby-Sawyer vs. Rivier will play the winner of Westfield State-Daniel Webster in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, March 8th for the championship on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
