Javon Williams (Mattapan, MA) produced 18 points and Charles Horton (Detriot, MI) added 17 more for the Lasers in the loss.
The Lions led most of the contest until the final minute of the first half when Horton went three-for-three from the free throw line after being fouled behind the arc, giving Lasell a 35-34 advantage. Bryan Rouse (East Greenwich, RI) quickly erased the Lasers edge with a fast break layup for Emerson. Lance Theard (New Orleans, LA) followed up with a trey for Lasell, but Emerson's Alex Dempsey (Anchorage, AK) drained a final three-pointer to end the half with a 38-37 Lions lead.
Emerson started the second half with a 19-5 run which gave the Lions a 57-42 lead by the 15 minute mark. The Lasers rallied back to get within five points at 79-74 after two more Horton freebies with just 32 seconds left. Nathan Firn (Waldesboro, NC) and Dan Boylan (Royal Oak, MI) kept the Lions out of reach by hitting key free throws in the final moments of the contest.
In addition to Williams and Horton, Aaron Bray (Boston, MA) put up 11 points for the visiting Lasers. Horton dished out eight assists in the contest.
Lasell finished the night with a 4-7 overall and a 2-3 GNAC record. Lasell will play next at St. Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
