Omanovic Named GNAC Corvias Player of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. (1/11/16) – Lasell College junior guard Armin Omanovic (Wilkesboro, N.C.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias men's basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

In a crucial 2-0 week for the Lasers, Omanovic tallied 54 total points to go along with 40% shooting from the floor.  The junior guard led the charge in a 94-81 triumph over reigning GNAC champions Albertus Magnus with 24 points, five rebounds and seven assists, before pouring in a game-high 30 points in a 99-94 win over Anna Maria.

Omanovic ranks first among GNAC stat leaders with a commanding 84.1% shooting percentage from the free throw line, as he connected on 26-of-32 free throws in the two wins this week. 

The Lasers are sporting a 5-0 performance in GNAC play, and will look to extend their conference win streak on Wednesday, January 13 when they travel to Anna Maria College at 5:00 p.m.
