Omanovic Passes 1,000 Point Milestone at Lasell
NEWTON, Mass. (1/21/17) – Senior guard Armin Omanovic became the 12th men’s basketball player to pass the 1,000 point mark in a Lasell uniform on Saturday afternoon inside the Athletic Center.
NEWTON, Mass. (1/21/17) – Senior guard Armin Omanovic became the 12th men's basketball player to pass the 1,000 point mark in a Lasell uniform on Saturday afternoon inside the Athletic Center. His name will be the first since 2013 to go up on the milestone banner.
Omanovic needed 32 points heading into the Lasers' contest against conference foe St. Joe's Maine, and reached the landmark on a layup with 52 seconds remaining in regulation.
The senior's total at Lasell rises to 1,002 in just one and a half seasons, following a 556 point turnout in 15-16. Omanovic is well on his way to reaching last year's totals, as he heads into the final eight games of the regular season with 446. Combined with his two seasons at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina, Omanovic has a collective total of 1,119 points.
Omanovic leads the GNAC in points per game at 26.2, and is the conference leader in total points by a margin of 137 points.
