MBB: Lasers Ranked 4th in GNAC Pre-Season Poll
Newton, MA- The Lasell University men's basketball team enters the 2025–26 campaign coming off a strong 2024–25 season that saw the Lasers finish with an impressive 21–7 overall record. Lasell came up just short in the GNAC Championship Game against Saint Joseph's (Maine) and now looks to return even stronger this year in pursuit of another trip to the conference title game.
Returning brothers Andy Madesko and Esmer Madesko will continue to be a key duo for the Lasers on both ends of the court. Esmer averaged 16.6 points per game and earned Second Team All-Conference honors in his freshman campaign. Andy has been a consistent performer throughout his first two seasons, starting all 28 games as a sophomore. He averaged 11.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while also leading the conference in both assists and steals.
Among the returners is senior forward Quinton Partee Jr., who has been a steady presence throughout his career, averaging 7.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game over the past three seasons. Junior Che Hanks adds further depth and experience to the Lasers' lineup. A consistent contributor, Hanks started all 28 games last season, averaging 11.8 points per game.
As Lasell looks to fill the shoes of standout Marcus Lewis, a major loss from last year's roster the Lasers are looking for increased contributions from Cameron Foster-Martez, Cameron Nell, Cole Buker and Caden Arnold.
Head Coach Aaron Galletta enters his 20th season at the helm, looking to build on the program's recent success, which included an eight-game win streak during the 2024–25 campaign. The Lasers open the season ranked fourth in the 2025 GNAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, eager to defend their place among the conference's elite.
