MBB: Lasers Fall to Salem State 82-72
Salem, MA — Lasell overcame an early deficit with a strong interior presence, taking a 39–37 lead into halftime behind an efficient, high-energy performance from Quinton Partee Jr. Partee Jr. ignited the Lasers with 10 first-half points, multiple steals, and momentum-shifting transition finishes. The Madesko brothers provided steady offense throughout the opening period: Esmer scored 9 early points (ultimately finishing with a team-high 15), while Andy added 7 points and an impressive 8 rebounds before halftime on his way to a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double. A boost from the bench also helped Lasell seize control late in the half, highlighted by a Cameron Nell dunk as he totaled 6 points before the break.
In the second half, Lasell opened with energy, but Salem State responded with a decisive run to retake momentum. Despite two more dunks from Nell — who finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds — and a timely three from Cameron Foster-Martez, the Vikings continued to answer at the rim. Esmer Madesko kept Lasell within reach with another efficient scoring stretch, while Che Hanks added 7 points and steady guard play. Partee Jr. closed with 12 points and 6 rebounds, but Salem State's late free throws, second-chance points, and key defensive stops ultimately sealed the game as Lasell fell, 82–72.
