Waltham, MA- The Lasell University men's basketball team dropped a 90–79 decision at Brandeis University on Monday night in a non-conference matchup at Red Auerbach Arena.
Lasell kept the contest tight throughout the opening half, trading runs with the Judges and heading into the break trailing just 42–38. The Lasers shot efficiently early and shared the ball well, staying within striking distance against a Brandeis team that entered the night with a winning record.
Brandeis gained separation in the second half behind a strong shooting performance, connecting at over 52 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from three-point range.
Lasell battled until the final buzzer, finishing the night shooting 46.0 percent from the floor and converting 16-of-22 attempts at the free throw line. The Lasers also forced 10 turnovers and recorded 17 assists on 29 made baskets. Andy Madesko led the way for Lasell with a game-high effort on both ends of the floor, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks. Esmer Madesko added 13 points and dished out six assists, while Caden Arnold provided a spark off the bench with nine points. Tyler Costin and Jonathan Box each chipped in eight points as Lasell saw contributions up and down the lineup.
