MBB: Lasers Down Cadets 84-60
Northfield, VT - The Lasell University men's basketball team turned in a complete performance on Wednesday night, earning an 84–60 victory over Norwich on the Hill.
Lasell set the tone early with efficient offense and disciplined defense, building momentum throughout the first half and never relinquishing control. After Norwich held a brief 14–13 advantage midway through the opening period, the Lasers responded with a sustained run that flipped the game in their favor. Lasell went on to lead for over 32 minutes of game action and carried that energy into the locker room with firm control of the contest.
The Lasers shot an efficient 48.4 percent from the field (31-of-64) and knocked down 11 three-pointers, stretching the floor and forcing Norwich to defend every possession. Ball movement played a key role in the offensive rhythm, as Lasell finished with 18 assists while committing just nine turnovers on the night.
Depth proved to be a major difference in the game. Lasell's bench poured in 37 points, providing a consistent spark and helping the Lasers build their largest lead of 27 points late in the second half. Defensively, Lasell disrupted Norwich's flow throughout the night, holding the visitors to 34.4 percent shooting and forcing 12 turnovers that led to 17 points off turnovers. The Lasers also controlled the glass with a 38–29 rebounding advantage.
Up Next: The Lasers will look to carry this momentum into a conference matchup against Emmanuel this Saturday, where Lasell will celebrate Senior Day.
