Newton, MA- The Lasell University men's basketball team celebrated their seniors on Saturday afternoon and won a tough matchup against Emmanuel.
Lasell set the tone early with strong defensive pressure and balanced scoring, jumping out to an early lead and controlling the tempo. Che Hanks and Esmer Madesko powered the offense with efficient scoring, while the Lasers capitalized on turnovers and transition opportunities to build separation. Emmanuel attempted to answer with perimeter shooting, but Lasell's defensive rotations and rebounding limited second chances. Consistent ball movement and interior finishes helped Lasell take a 51–29 advantage into halftime.
Emmanuel made a push coming out of the break, but Lasell responded with poise and timely shooting. Lasell's depth played a key role, with Daniel Edmonds providing a perfect shooting night off the bench for 9 points, and Quinton Partee Jr. adding another 9 points. Jonathan Box contributed 8 points and 2 steals, Hanks finished with 19 points and Madesko finished with 24. Lasell continued to win the rebounding batlle and executed well late, knocking down key free throws to maintain control. The Lasers closed out the game strong to secure the 85-81 victory.
Up Next- Lasell will be back in action on Tuesday February 3 when they travel to Saint Joseph's Maine.
