MBB: Lasell Delivers Commanding Win Against Colby-Sawyer
Newton, MA- The Lasell University men's basketball team delivered a commanding 102-61 win over Colby-Sawyer.
Lasell dominated the first half, using a balanced offensive attack and relentless defense to build a commanding 52–20 lead at the break. After trading baskets early, the Lasers began to pull away behind strong ball movement and second-chance opportunities. Esmer Madesko sparked the offense with multiple assists and steals, while Tyler Costin caught fire from beyond the arc, knocking down multiple three-pointers to stretch the margin into double digits. Andy Madesko controlled the glass on both ends, adding a tip-in and a three of his own, and Quinton Partee Jr. contributed inside with key layups. Defensively, Lasell forced turnovers and turned steals into quick points, steadily extending the lead past 20. A late-half surge, highlighted by back-to-back threes from Costin and strong finishes from Hanks, sent Lasell into halftime firmly in control 52-20
The Lasers continued to dominate the second half from the opening whistle. Andy Madesko jumpstarted the half with a layup and free throw, and the Lasers quickly caught fire from deep as Costin and Esmer Madesko knocked down back-to-back threes. The defensive pressure was relentless. Steals by Hanks, Costin, and the Madesko brothers led to transition buckets, including dunks by Cameron Nell and Andy Madesko that stretched the lead past 40. Costin continued his sharp shooting with multiple three-pointers, while Jonathan Box and RJ Jones added triples of their own as the advantage ballooned past 90 points. Even with heavy substitutions midway through the half, Lasell maintained control behind strong rebounding and balanced scoring. The Lasers closed out the game in commanding fashion, cruising to a 102-61 win.
