MLAX: Lasers Cruise to Senior Day Win Over Regis
Newton, MA - The Lasell men's lacrosse team took a commanding 20-7 victory against Regis in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) showdown on Saturday at Grellier Field. The win improved Lasell's record to 11-4, with a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play, while Regis dropped to 3-11 overall and 1-7 in the GNAC.
Prior to the game, time was taken to acknowledge the 2025 class of seniors on the roster. This included: Midfielder - Matthew Carbone, Goalkeeper - Michael Catalano, Midfielder - Will McCarthy, Midfielder - Finnegan McCormack, Attacker - Kieran Oliver, and Attacker - Ryan Stone.
Out of the gate, Lasell exploded for eight goals, taking a commanding 8-0 lead by the end of the first period. Ryan Stone, Jack Condon, and Nate Campbell led the early offensive charge, with Condon netting three goals and adding an assist in the opening frame. The Lasers continued to dominate into the second quarter, though Regis managed to break the shutout at 8:08 with a goal from Nick Klein. Despite Regis' best efforts, Lasell responded with two more goals from Condon, pushing their lead to 10-1 heading into halftime. The third quarter saw a slight resurgence from the Pride, as Jack Jaynes and Brendan Cook contributed to a three-goal run, cutting the Lasell lead to 12-5. However, Lasell answered with strong offensive plays, including goals from Ryan Stone and Carson Tucker, to maintain a safe distance. In the fourth, a few other Lasers got involved in the scoring with Austin Wenzel, Brady Swisher, Sam Guilmette, and Blake Cavallon each getting on the scoreboard to cap the 20-7 win.
Jack Condon's six goals added to his impressive rookie campaign and also put him in the record books, as he now holds the single-season scoring record, with 50 goals and counting. Ryan Stone had three goals and three assists, and Carson Tucker also added three goals. Regis' Jack Jaynes finished with three goals and two assists in a losing effort.
