Northfield, VT- The Lasers defeated Norwich on the road 15-8 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lasers opened the game strong, striking first midway through the quarter when Colin LeBaron scored the game's first goal on a man-up opportunity with an assist from Jason Martin. The Lasers continued to pressure offensively, with Nate Campbell adding two goals, one on a man-up assist from Jack Condon, to extend the lead. Despite several early penalties and multiple shot attempts that were saved or missed, Lasell controlled possession and finished the quarter ahead 3–0.
Lasell exploded offensively in the second quarter, scoring five goals to pull away from the Cadets. Campbell scored another two, including another man-up goal assisted by Martin, while Cole Mackin added a goal off a feed from Matthew Carbone. Nick Halesworth and Condon also found the back of the net as the Lasers continued to dominate possession at the faceoff X thanks to Carbone. Norwich finally broke through late in the quarter, but Lasell still carried a commanding 8–3 lead into halftime.
The Lasers maintained control in the third, adding three more goals to extend their advantage. Carson Tucker started the scoring before Martin and Carbone each added goals of their own. Carbone continued to control faceoffs and helped Lasell keep the ball in its offensive end. Several shot attempts from Condon and Campbell kept pressure on the Norwich defense, and at the end of the quarter, Lasell pushed its lead to 11–7.
Lasell closed the game with another strong offensive push, scoring four goals in the final quarter. Condon scored twice, completing the hat-trick, while Martin and Sam Guilmette each added goals to cap the scoring. Campbell and and Condon both lead the offense with 4 and 3 goals respectively. The Lasers continued to win key faceoffs and control possession late, limiting Norwich's opportunities and sealing a 15–8 victory.
