MLAX: Lasers Roll Past Colby-Sawyer
New London, NH- The Lasell University men's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance on the road Wednesday night, cruising to a 20-3 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Colby-Sawyer.
The Lasers wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for 10 first-quarter goals and never looking back. Lasell added eight more in the second to take an 18-1 lead into halftime, firmly in control on both ends of the field.
Nate Campbell led the offensive surge with a game-high six points on four goals and two assists, while Julian Vogel turned in a standout performance with three goals and four assists. Peter Doorley matched Campbell with four goals of his own, and Thomas Flynn added a hat trick as the Lasers showcased their depth.
Jack Condon contributed two goals and an assist, while Blake Cavallon chipped in with a goal and an assist. Lasell saw 12 different players record at least one point in the win.
Dominance extended beyond the scoreboard, as the Lasers controlled possession throughout. Luke Mongillo (11-15), Matthew Carbone (3-3), and Doorley (8-8) powered a strong showing at the faceoff X, helping Lasell win 22 of 26 draws. The Lasers also held a decisive 68-31 advantage in ground balls.
Defensively, Lasell limited Colby-Sawyer to just three goals, with Dominick Ciarelli earning the win after allowing one goal and making three saves in the first half. Cameron Soave added six saves in relief.
Up Next: Lasell will be back in action this Saturday for their Senior Day contest against Maine Maritime.
