Bio

Dieter Treusdell enters his sixth season as Lasers Head Coach in the 2026-17 season. 

Prior to joining Lasell, Treusdell served as the associate head men’s lacrosse coach at Vassar College from 2018 to 2021. He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Vassar, later becoming the first assistant at Bard College before returning to Vassar in a leadership role. His time in the Liberty League laid the foundation for his player-first coaching philosophy and his focus on building cohesive, high-performing teams.

A native of Corning, New York, Treusdell was a three-year varsity player at SUNY Cortland from 2012–14, helping the Red Dragons to three consecutive conference championships and a 2012 NCAA Division III National Championship runner-up finish. He began his collegiate playing career at Stony Brook University, redshirting in 2011 as the Seawolves finished runner-up in the America East Championship. Treusdell also played one season as a graduate student at North Greenville University in 2015, where he led the team in scoring.

“I’m honored to join the Lasell community as the head coach of the men’s lacrosse program,” Treusdell said upon his hiring. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for what this program has achieved on and off the field. I’m excited to start the next chapter and build an unbreakable culture. We will play for each other and be great people. I can’t wait to lead this team.”

Since his arrival in 2021, Treusdell has compiled an impressive 58-34 overall record, including a dominant 42-8 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. Under his leadership, the Lasers have consistently been a top contender in the GNAC, reaching the conference championship game twice, the semifinals twice and the quarterfinals once. In his debut season, Treusdell led Lasell to a 12–7 overall record and a 9–1 GNAC record, highlighted by a 10-game winning streak and a runner-up finish in the GNAC Championship. The Lasers continued their strong conference play, finishing 11–7 overall and 8–2 in GNAC the following year, earning the No. 2 seed before falling in the GNAC semifinals. In the 2023-24 season Lasell matched its previous record at 11–7 overall and 8–2 in conference, again securing a GNAC semifinal appearance. In his most successful season to date, Treusdell guided the Lasers to a 14–5 overall record, went undefeated (9–0) in GNAC play, and led the team back to the GNAC Championship game as runner-up. Treusdell was named the GNAC Coach of the Year, following the Lasers spectacular season.
