Western Connecticut Shuts Down Lasell 3-0

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.--Daniel Sanchez scored two second half goals to lead Western Connecticut to a 3-0 win over Lasell in the Skidmore College Alumni Tournament, Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

Lasell (0-2) finishes the three-team tournament 0-2. Western Connecticut (2-1) will play Skidmore for the championship on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Laser goalie Julian Dutton (Madison, CT) kept his team in the game with 13 saves, including five in a 0-0 first half.

Sanchez broke the tie when he converted a long pass from Michael Savenelli at 52:31. He made it 2-0 when he found himself one-on-one with Dutton after collecting a loose ball in the box.

Roger Rua sent Dennis Poulter in alone for the third goal at 80:22.

Western Conn out shot Lasell 27-8. Colonial goalie Dan Michaelowski had six saves for the shutout.
