Newton, MA – In a high-scoring contest, the Lasell men's soccer team fell 5-3 to Saint Joseph's (Conn.) on Wednesday evening.
The Blue Jays wasted no time, striking in the second minute to grab an early lead. Lasell quickly responded, as Girish Raghunathan found Daniel Faynstein in the box just minutes later to level the match and set the tone for a fast-paced first half. The Lasers carried that momentum into the closing stages, with Owen O'Brien burying a goal just before halftime to give Lasell a 2-1 advantage at the break.
Saint Joseph's came out strong in the second half, netting three unanswered goals—including one from the penalty shot—to swing the score to 5-2. The Lasers battled to the final whistle, earning a late penalty of their own that Christopher Guzman converted in the final minute to close the gap at 5-3.
Avry Dorocha had a strong showing in the net, tallying 11 saves over the full 90 minutes.
