New London, CT- The Lasell men's soccer team fought hard but fell 3-1 to Mitchell in a competitive matchup on Tuesday.
The Lasers started with energy, creating early scoring chances, including a shot from Brent Bickel in the opening minutes that was saved by Mitchell's goalkeeper. Mitchell struck first in the 3rd minute giving them an early 1-0 lead. Lasell pushed back, with Daniel Faynstein, Owen O'Brien, and Daniel Augustine testing the Mitchell defense throughout the first half. Their persistence paid off in the 32nd minute when the Lasers managed to even the score at 1-1 off of an impressive drive from O'Brien. Despite the equalizer, Mitchell regained the lead just before halftime 2-1.
The second half saw Lasell maintaining possession and pressuring the Mitchell defense, but Mitchell's disciplined play and timely scoring made the difference.
