MVB: Walinjom and Villa Tabbed in Weekly GNAC Awards
Newton, MA- Sophomore Middle Blocker Ben Villa displayed great efficiency at the net on the attack in a 2-0 conference week for the Lasers as the Farmington, Conn. native registered 12 kills in only five sets (2.40 kills per set) while hoisting an efficient .524% at the net. Villa started the week in a four set victory over Regis with six kills along with four total blocks and followed in two sets against Emerson with another six kills with three blocks.
First-year Benjamin Walinjom spearheaded the Lasers' attack as the North Quincy, Mass. native collected 20 kills (2.86 k/s) on an efficient .400% while collecting three digs apiece in both matches and getting three blocks in the process in a 2-0 week for Lasell. Walinjom had 11 kills vs. Regis and nine vs. Emerson.
