Newton, MA - The Lasell University mens volleyball team hosted the Regis Pride on Thursday night in a GNAC conference matchup.
The Lasers who defeated the Pride on the road earlier in the month, looked to sweep the regular season series with a win at home. They were able to do just that winning in three sets. In the first set the Lasers used a 5-1 run in the middle of the set to take an 18-9 lead which helped them coast to a 25-18 first set victory. The following set spelled a similar story for the Lasers as they had several stretches of three consecutive points and earned a 25-15 second set win. The third set would prove to be more interesting as the Pride would test the Lasers late. After the Lasers closed in on match point, the Pride went on a 5-0 run which erased the 23-18 lead and tied the set at 23-23. After the two teams each had chances to take the set, the Lasers eventually got a kill blow from Theo Zaharewicz who gave the Lasers the 32-30 set win and completing the 3-0 sweep.
Zaharewicz led the team in kills on the day with 14 as Teddy Teraszkiewicz joined him in double figures with 10 kills of his own. Trystan Maloney set up both Zaharewicz and Teraszkiewicz throughout as he tallied a game high 21 assists.
Up Next - The Lasers will be hosting a tri-match on Saturday which will feature games against Dean and Rivier. The Lasers will play its two games at 11 AM and 3 PM.
