MVB: Schultz and Nakasato Earn Weekly GNAC Awards

Newton, MA- Lasell University men's volleyball senior Jasper Schultz and freshman Micah Nakasato were recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) this week, as Schultz was named Offensive Player of the Week and Nakasato earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Schultz opened his senior campaign with a strong showing, helping guide the receiving votes (RV) Lasers to a 2–1 week that included a marquee victory over RV Nazareth. The senior outside hitter totaled 32 kills across three matches while adding 13 digs defensively. He posted a season-high 21 kills in a four-set win over SUNY Poly while hitting .341, followed by seven kills in a sweep of Nazareth. Schultz also contributed four kills against No. 3 nationally ranked Juniata to close the week.

Nakasato provided stability in the back row and played a key role in Lasell's offensive flow across the three-match stretch. The freshman totaled 30 assists and 13 digs on the week, averaging 3.00 assists and 1.30 digs per set. He recorded 11 digs in the four-set victory over SUNY Poly, added nine assists and four digs against nationally ranked Nazareth, and closed the trip with another nine assists against Juniata.
