Newton, MA- The Lasell men's volleyball team faced a stiff test Tuesday night, dropping a 3–0 decision to AVCA No. 1–ranked Springfield College Pride inside the Athletic Center in Newton, Mass.
The Lasers battled throughout the match but came up short in tightly contested sets, falling 25–18, 25–22, and 25–15. Lasell stayed within striking distance early, showing resilience in the opening frame before Springfield used a late run to pull away. The second set proved to be the most competitive, with Lasell trading points and pushing the visitors deep into the set before the Pride closed on a 6–2 stretch.
Senior outside hitter Jasper Schultz led the Lasell attack with 11 kills on a .321 hitting percentage, adding a pair of blocks. Teddy Teraszkiewicz chipped in four kills on nine attempts, while Remy Cahalan and Cole Esterline each added three kills. Setter Trystan Maloney paced the offense with 11 assists, joined by Branch Barnes who contributed nine assists, and Ryan Mesnik anchored the back row with a team-high nine digs.
Up Next: Lasell will be back on the court the 25th with a critical conference matchup against Wentworth.
