MVB: Lasers Beat Elmira 3-0
Newton, MA- The Lasell University men's volleyball team took the 3-0 victory over Elmira College on Thursday evening. The Lasers won the sets 25-16, 25-22, and 25-11
Lasell controlled the opening set from the start and never let the momentum slip in a 25–16 set win. Early kills from Teddy Teraszkiewicz and Paten Buckwalter helped the Lasers establish the offense, while Jasper Schultz added pressure from the service line with an ace to extend the lead. Midway through the set, Buckwalter delivered back-to-back service aces to spark a decisive run that pushed the Lasers ahead by eight. Trystan Maloney distributed the offense effectively, connecting with Branch Barnes, Remy Cahalan, and Buckwalter for key points as the lead continued to grow. Teraszkiewicz and Barnes closed out the set with late kills, sealing the comfortable nine-point win.
The Lasers pulled away late to secure a 25–22 victory in the second set. The teams traded points throughout the early stages, with kills from Teraszkiewicz, Cahalan, and Barnes keeping the Lasers within striking distance. Midway through the set, Schultz ignited the run with back-to-back service aces that tied the score and shifted the energy in Lasell's favor. From there, Maloney continued to spread the offense, connecting with Buckwalter and Teraszkiewicz for key points down the stretch. A late block by Barnes and Buckwalter followed by a Teraszkiewicz kill sealed the three-point win and gave Lasell a 2–0 lead in the match.
Lasell gained control back in the third set, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back in a dominant 25–11 win. Kills from Matthew Mitko, Teraszkiewicz, and Cole Esterline helped the Lasers build momentum early, while Maloney continued to orchestrate the offense with several assists. The Lasers extended the lead midway through the set behind a service ace from Buckwalter and another from Maloney. Teraszkiewicz and Esterline continued to find success late in the set, and Mitko closed the door with a kill to secure the convincing 3-0 match win.
