MBV: Schultz and Barnes Earn GNAC Weekly Honors

Newton, MA- Following a thrilling five-set conference victory over No. 11 Wentworth, two members of the No. 14 ranked Lasell University men's volleyball team earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors, as senior Jasper Schultz was named Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Branch Barnes earned Rookie of the Week recognition.

Schultz delivered a dominant offensive performance in the conference matchup, exploding for 31 kills on .344 hitting while averaging 6.20 kills per set in the five-set victory. The senior totaled 33.5 points in the win while contributing across the board with seven digs, four blocks, and 21 receptions at an impressive .952 clip, helping power the Lasers past the nationally-ranked Leopards.

Barnes turned in a standout all-around performance of his own, recording a triple-double in the victory. The freshman finished with 11 kills, 30 assists, and 12 digs, while adding three blocks and a service ace. Barnes totaled 13.5 points and handled all four reception attempts cleanly, showcasing his versatility and poise in a key conference win for Lasell.
