MVB: Lasers Beat Blazers 3-1
Chicopee, MA- The Lasell men's volleyball team beat Elms College 3-1 on Tuesday evening.
Lasell edged out a tight 25–23 win in a back-and-forth opening set. Early kills from Paten Buckwalter and Teddy Teraszkiewicz helped build momentum, while Branch Barnes contributed on both ends with key plays at the net. Elms made a late push behind their offense, but Lasell responded with strong blocking and forced errors to close out the set.
The Lasers took control in the second set, winning 25–18 after an early tie. Strong serving from Barnes, including multiple aces, helped spark a mid-set run. Offensively, Cody Bonilla and Teraszkiewicz led the way, while Remy Cahalan added key points at the net. Lasell maintained the pressure and capitalized on late errors to secure the set.
The teams went back-and-forth in a tight third set, with neither team able to pull away. Late, Lasell rallied from a 23–20 deficit to tie it at 24–24 behind strong play from Bonilla and Nathaniel Cobuzzi. Elms was able to finish it off with key kills and a service ace to take the set 30–28, making the Lasers go into the fourth set 2-1.
Lasell took control early in the fourth set and never looked back, building a steady lead behind a dominant offensive performance from Jasper Schultz. With strong support from Trystan Maloney and Buckwalter, Lasell stretched the lead to 14–8 and kept the pressure on with key blocks and service points. Elms made a small push midway through, but Lasell responded quickly, cruising to a 25–18 set win and a 3-1 match win.
