Newton, MA- The Lasell University softball team fell to Albertus Magnus in GNAC play, losing game one 8-0, and game two 9-7.
Game 1-
Lasell struggled to generate any offense in game one, falling 8–0 after being held hitless across six innings. The lineup was unable to find a rhythm at the plate, finishing 0-for-19 with four strikeouts and just one runner left on base. No hitter recorded a hit, as players like Abigail Fortin, Emily Stilwell, and Madalen Brown were all kept quiet throughout the game. Defensively, Lasell had a tough outing, committing three errors, including two by Stilwell and another by Ashlyn McCampbell, which contributed to extended innings for the Falcons.
In the circle, Shyanne Raccio went the distance, pitching all six innings while allowing 12 hits and eight runs. She struck out three and did not issue a walk but surrendered two home runs as the Falcons offense consistently applied pressure.
Game 2-
Lasell's offense bounced back in game two, but it wasn't enough as they fell 9–7 in a high-scoring battle. The Lasers totaled 10 hits and showed much more life at the plate compared to game one. Shyanne Raccio led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Madalen Brown delivered a key two-run double as part of her one-hit, two-RBI performance. Alyssa Bland added two hits and an RBI, and Riley Michael chipped in with a pair of hits. Emma Tarleton also contributed with a double and an RBI, helping power the Lasell lineup.
Lasell was aggressive on the bases, stealing four bags from Abigail Fortin, Sophie Arena, Riley Michael, and Bland, creating additional scoring opportunities throughout the game. On the mound, Fortin pitched a complete game, allowing 14 hits and nine runs, while striking out seven. Despite not issuing a walk, Lasell struggled to limit damage, with two home runs allowed and three wild pitches proving costly.
Up Next- The Lasers will be back in action on April 1 facing Gordon College in a double-header matchup.
