Newton, MA - The Lasell women's lacrosse team delivered a complete performance on Saturday afternoon at Grellier Field, cruising to an 18-0 shutout victory over Dean in GNAC action.
The Lasers came out firing, scoring eight goals in the opening quarter and never taking their foot off the gas. Ruby Cahill led the charge early, netting three first-quarter goals as Lasell built an 8-0 advantage after 15 minutes.
Emily Watson orchestrated the offense throughout, finishing with a game-high six assists to go along with a goal. Cahill finished with four goals and four assists, while Emma Dressel and Kaleigh Kosta each added two goals to pace a balanced attack that saw 10 different Lasers find the back of the net.
Lasell continued to control play in the second quarter, extending the lead to 11-0 at the half. The momentum carried through the second half, highlighted by goals from Juliana Gonzalez, Mara Boldy, and Jade Sullivan as the Lasers closed out the dominant win.
Defensively, Lasell was just as sharp, limiting Dean to just two shots in the contest. Joy Sayah and Tia Spenlinhauer combined for the shutout in net, while the Lasers controlled possession with a 14-5 edge in draw controls and forced 29 turnovers.
