Newton, MA- Lasell wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for 10 first-quarter goals en route to a dominant 19-3 win over Mitchell on Tuesday afternoon at Grellier Field.
The Lasers came out firing, with Ruby Cahill and Emily Watson leading the charge early as Lasell built a commanding 10-0 lead after the opening frame. The offensive surge continued into the second quarter, pushing the advantage to 13-0 before Mitchell got on the board late in the half.
Cahill delivered a milestone performance, recording three goals and five assists to surpass 100 career points, while Watson orchestrated the attack with two goals and a game-high six assists to go along with seven draw controls. Lily Hunt added three goals, and Emma Dressel chipped in two goals and an assist.
Lasell's depth was on full display, with 10 different players finding the back of the net, including goals from Mara Boldy, Michelle Zaluga, Ayla Cohen, Kate Marino, Juliana Gonzalez, and Jade Sullivan.
Defensively, the Lasers controlled possession throughout, winning 14 draw controls and holding Mitchell to just 18 shots. In net, Tia Spenlinhauer earned the win with five saves, while Elyse Meyers added six stops in relief.
