West Hartford, CT- The Lasell women's soccer team earned another hard-fought GNAC conference victory on Saturday afternoon, edging Saint Joseph (Conn.) 1-0 in a thrilling finish.
After a scoreless first half, the Lasers continued to press in the second, breaking through with just over three minutes remaining in regulation. Ayla Hathaway delivered the decisive moment, netting her sixth goal of the season in the 86th minute off a perfectly executed short corner from Kendall Sniper, sending the Lasell bench into celebration.
The Lasers dictated much of the play, outshooting the Blue Jays 17-11 and applying steady offensive pressure throughout the match. On the other end, goalkeeper Elizabeth DaSilva stood tall, turning away all five shots she faced to earn the clean sheet.
