Newton, MA- The Lasell University women's soccer team battled hard but ultimately fell 4–0 to Emmanuel College in a challenging match on Tuesday evening.
Despite the final score, Lasell goalkeeper Elizabeth DaSilva turned in a standout performance, recording multiple saves to keep her team within reach for much of the contest. Emmanuel broke through in the 23rd minutegiving the Saints an early 1–0 lead. Lasell struggled to gain offensive momentum, while DaSilva continued to anchor the defense with several key stops. However, Emmanuel extended its lead late in the first half to make it 2–0 heading into halftime.
The Lasers came out with renewed energy in the second half, with Ayla Hathaway and Mia Pineault each testing the Emmanuel goalkeeper, but they held firm to preserve the shutout. Despite Lasell's efforts, Emmanuel continued to press offensively, adding two more goals in the 70th and 77th minutes to seal the 4–0 win.
Up Next- The Lasers finish third in the GNAC conference and will host Saint Joseph's Maine in the quarterfinals on Saturdsay November 1st.
