Knuth 3000 Meter Performance Highlights Women's Track and Field Outing
BOSTON, Mass. (2/1/14)- The Lasell College women's track and field team continued their indoor season on Saturday February 1st setting three new personal bests during the competed at the Tufts University Stampede. Rachel Knuth trimmed nearly 30 seconds off her previous best in the 3000M, running a 12:03.83 on Saturday. Her time broke the prior school record in the 3,000M of 12:20.43 held by Meghan Missett.
Lasell also entered a 4x200 meter relay team featuring Ayumi Ranucci, Melissa Cooley, Talia Gabriel and Tatyana George that placed fourth with a time of 1:54.36, shattering the old school record of 2:04.29 set back in 2011. Kelly Pigott set a pair of personal records in the 60M and 200M, finishing with times of 9.71 and 32.22 for the Lasers.
Briana Wrubleski ran a 10.69 in the 60M hurdles, then came back and posted a 9.95 in the 60M Dash for Lasell. Ayumi Ranucci ran the fastest time in the 60M Dash for Lasell with an 8.87, followed by Melissa Cooley who clocked in with a 9.02 and Talia Gabriel who finished in 9.15.
Jamie Russo ran a new personal record in the 400M with a 1:12.40 on the afternoon, also competing in the Mile which she completed in 6:11.11. In the field events, Tatyana George posted a distance of 4.57 meters in the long jump and Chelsea Zeig recorded throws of 8.55 meters in the weight throw and 10.7 meters in the shot put.
