Cooley Flies At BU Valentine Invite

NEWTON, Mass. (2/17/15) - Junior Melissa Cooley (Huntington Beach, Calif.) continued her strong season performance this past weekend at the women's indoor track Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. 

Cooley finished the 400m race in 1:02.51, not only achieving a new personal best, but surpassing the Lasell record of 1:02.88 which she set on February 2, 2013. Cooley placed fourth in the heat and 128th overall, racing against top runners from Boston College and UMass Lowell.

Sophomore Amy MacDonald (Burlington, Mass.) PR'd in the mile run at 5:44.07, shaving 3.35 seconds off of her previous record. 

For the sprinters, sophomore Ayumi Ranucci (Auburn, Maine) finished the 60m dash in 8.88 seconds, while freshman Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, Mass.) ran the 200m race in 29.81 seconds.
