LASERS FINISH 1-1 AT TRI-MATCH
The Lasers picked up a win on Saturday against non-conference challenger Husson College, 3-1, at Framingham State College. Prior to the Husson match, the hosting Rams took a match from the Lasers, 3-0, leaving Lasell with a 1-1 record for the tri-match.

Lasell's Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) had a career high 34 assists in the match with Husson, bringing her total assists on the year to 251. Crozier is averaging 3.98 assists per game for the Lasers.
Making good use of those sets was right side hitter Nicole Wetterman (Dighton, MA) who went 14 for 29 hitting, with only 3 errors. Wetterman has been playing consistently well for the Lasers all season, and particularly well in recent games. Wetterman leads the team in hitting percentage with a .213. She hit .379 against Husson.
Kelsey Schmidt (Ballston Spa, NY) and Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) also capitalized on Croziers sets. Schmidt picked up 12 kills, hitting a .357 clip, while Drapeau got 8 kills. Sophomore Melanie Costa (Ludlow, MA) had a team high 20 digs in the match with Husson, with Crozier picking up 15 digs, and Megan Gobeille (Lincoln, RI) getting an additional 14.
The Lasers won the match 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, and 25-14.
In the earlier match with Framingham State, the Lasers went neck in neck with the Rams. Though the Lasers forced each set to extra points, losing by only two in each of the sets, the Rams came out victorious with 26-24, 27-25, and 30-28 scores, winning 3-0.
Wetterman again had a game for Lasell, with 7 kills and 8 digs. Crozier picked up an additional 19 assists in the tough matchup, and junior libero Amanda Major (Southbury, CT) protected the court with a team high 21 digs.
Drapeau hit an impressive .471 clips for the Lasers, making 10 kills on 17 attempts, with only 2 errors. Schmidt had 5 total blocks in the game, including 4 solo blocks.
The Lasers next match will be Tuesday, October 14th in the Athletic Center when they host Rhode Island College at 7:00 p.m.
