Raiders Top Lasers in Four Sets
Nashua, NH - It was Dig Pink night at the Muldoon Health & Fitness Center as the Rivier College Raiders hosted Lasell College in a GNAC volleyball match. The Raiders prevailed 3-1 in the match while also raising money to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
Nashua, NH – Rivier College hosted the Lasell College women's volleyball team in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night at the Muldoon Health & Fitness Center, prevailing 3-1 in the match. The night also marked Dig Pink night with all funds raised over the course of the evening being donated to support the Susan G. Koman for the Cure Foundation.
The Raiders came out firing in set one, defeating the Lasers 25-11 and hitting .323 as a team, nearly flawless in the error columns. Lasell followed up by taking set two 25-23, before Rivier settled the match in four sets, 25-8 and 25-18.
Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) continued to be forceful at the net with 10 kills, a team high for the Lasers. Sara Biondo (Coventry, RI) tacked on five additional kills, while Eileen Barrett (Ludlow, MA) and Taylor Riley (Greencastle, PA) put down four apiece. Barrett also produced two solo and three assisted blocks, and Riley collected 10 digs.
Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) dished out 24 assists while picking up six digs and Sarah Eisenberg (Westfield, MA) came up with a team-best 14 digs as Lasell's libero.
Lasell will travel to Salve Regina University on Thursday for a 7:00 PM non-conference match.
