WVB: Lasers Earn Third Consecutive GNAC Title
Newton, MA- The Lasers have earned themselves their third-consectutive GNAC title, after defeating the fifth seeded Regis College this morning.
The opening set set the tone for a competitive matchup. Lasell held a narrow lead throughout, but Regis refused to fade, pulling within one late. A composed finish from the Lasers delivered the 25–23 win. In the second set, Lasell took full control, firing on all cylinders offensively while holding Regis to a -.080 hitting percentage. Behind a clean passing game and a string of tough serves, the Lasers rolled to a commanding 25–12 victory and a 2–0 match lead.
Regis responded with its strongest stretch of the afternoon, flipping the momentum in the third set. The Pride hit .192—its best output of the match—and capitalized on Lasell's miscues to take the frame 25–16. The Lasers, however, wasted no time in regaining control. Lasell rose to the moment in the fourth set, swinging at a match-high .303. That renewed composure allowed the Lasers to dictate the pace and close out the set, and the match, 25–19.
Lasell's offense was anchored by Morgan Bogli, who led all players with 15 kills and delivered timely plays in key stretches. Victoria Pariseault was electric at the net, posting eight kills on just 11 swings for a .727 hitting percentage and providing four block assists. Sydney Katz guided the attack with 29 assists, distributing the offense with consistency even as Regis applied defensive pressure. On the back line, Madeline Caro collected a match-high 19 digs, while Andrea Aceituno added 14, helping Lasell control long rallies. Defensively, the Lasers finished with 17 block assists to stifle the Regis attack over the course of the match, turning the tide during pivotal points and limiting extended scoring runs.
In the wake of the championship win, Lasell's standout performers were rewarded with postseason accolades. Morgan Bogli earned GNAC Tournament MVP honors after anchoring the Lasers on both sides of the ball all weekend. Joining her on the GNAC All-Tournament Team were Sydney Katz and Victoria Pariseault, whose composure and impact in key stretches played crucial roles in Lasell's title run.
