MLAX: Lasers Dominate NEC in GNAC Play
Newton, MA- The Lasell University men's lacrosse team delivered a dominant conference performance Saturday afternoon, defeating New England College 18–4 at Grellier Field.
Lasell controlled the game from the opening whistle, building a 4–2 lead in the first quarter behind goals from Jack Condon, Nate Campbell, and Jason Martin.
The Lasers continued to extend their lead in the second quarter as Campbell netted his third goal of the game and Colin LeBaron found the back of the net. Condon added two more goals in the frame, including a strike with five seconds remaining to send Lasell into halftime with an 8–3 advantage.
Lasell broke the game open in the third quarter, scoring five unanswered goals. LeBaron scored twice in the period while Condon, Julian Vogel, and others added to the offensive surge as the Lasers pushed the lead to 13–3 heading into the final quarter.
The Lasers continued the momentum in the fourth, adding five more goals. Vogel scored his second of the day while Martin, Sam Guilmette, and LeBaron each found the net as Lasell secured the 18–4 conference victory.
Condon led the offensive effort with five goals and four assists, while LeBaron also finished with five goals. Campbell recorded a hat trick, Martin totaled two goals and two assists, and Vogel added two goals in the win. Lasell dominated possession throughout the game, outshooting New England College 58–21 and holding a 34–16 advantage in ground balls. In goal, Cameron Soave earned the win with four saves over the first 45 minutes, while Dominick Ciarelli recorded three saves in relief.
Up Next: Lasell will be back on Grellier this coming Wednesday with a non-conference matchup against Emerson College.
