MVB: Lasers Fall to Leopards in GNAC Play
Boston, MA – The Lasell University men's volleyball team was defeated by Wentworth Institute of Technology in a three-set match on Friday evening at Tansey Gymnasium. The final score was 3-0, with set scores of 19-25, 24-26, and 17-25.
Despite strong individual performances, the Lasers struggled to overcome Wentworth's solid offensive play. Theo Zaharewicz led the way for Lasell with 13 kills. Jasper Schultz also had a standout performance with 13 kills and a 0.321 hitting percentage.
Lasell was up against a strong Wentworth squad that recorded an impressive offensive effort, including 8 kills from Ian Babcock and 6 kills each from Nicolai Bell and Andrew Ahn. Wentworth finished the match with a 0.375 hitting percentage.
Lasell's offense, led by Zaharewicz and Schultz, put up a total of 38 kills on 88 attempts, but was unable to match Wentworth's consistent performance, especially in the latter parts of each set. The Lasers had 20 errors across the three sets, impacting their offensive flow.
The Lasers, now 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), will look to bounce back in their next match as they prepare for the rest of their conference slate.
