WBB: Lasers Surge Past Rams 77-65
Boston, MA- Lasell remained unbeaten and moved to 6–0 with a 77–65 road win over previously undefeated Suffolk, using dominant first- and fourth-quarter stretches to secure the victory.
The Lasers opened the game with a dominant 24–8 first quarter, controlling the pace and attacking the glass early. Suffolk responded with a surge of its own, outscoring Lasell 27–18 in the second quarter to cut the halftime deficit to 42–35. The third quarter remained balanced as both teams traded stops and scores, but Lasell regained full momentum in the fourth, using a 22-point period to secure the double-digit victory.
Shirle Major led Lasell with 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting while adding three assists. Laura Johnson delivered one of the night's defining performances, posting a 16-point, 21-rebound outing that anchored the Lasers on both ends of the floor. Blaize Mack added 14 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in a steady two-way showing, while Daeserae Williamson scored eight efficient points and Abigail Duclos came off the bench to contribute eight points and six assists.
Lasell shot 44.3 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three while winning the rebounding battle 47–44 and grabbing 13 offensive boards. Despite Suffolk shooting 37.1 percent overall and 26.3 percent from beyond the arc, the Rams stayed within reach through strong stretches in the second and third quarters before Lasell's late push sealed the result.
