WLAX: Lasers Post 24-3 Win Over Mariners
New London, CT – The Lasell women's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance against Mitchell College, securing a 24-3 victory on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. With the win, Lasell improves to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
Lasell's offense was in full gear from the opening whistle, with multiple players contributing to the high-scoring affair. Kaitlin Bedell led the way with 5 goals and 1 assist, including several unassisted goals and crucial free position shots. Bedell's offensive outburst was key in Lasell building an insurmountable lead early in the game.
Emily Watson, another standout for the Lasers, tallied 4 goals and 2 assists, showcasing her dynamic playmaking ability. Watson was involved in multiple scoring plays, constantly creating opportunities for her teammates and finishing with precision.
Mara Boldy also made a significant impact, scoring 4 goals, including a couple of free-position shots, and contributing with solid ball movement. Ruby Cahill added 2 goals and 1 assist to the offensive output, continuing to contribute both as a scorer and a facilitator.
Defensively, Lasell's control of the game was reflected in their dominance in ground balls and draw controls. The Lasers held a 20-10 advantage in draw controls, providing the team with ample possession opportunities.
